We are Neh and Vee
A husband-and-wife studio in Leicester, named after our daughters.
Our story
Hello, and thank you for coming this far. I am Neh, and I am one half of this. My husband Vee is the other. He prefers to stay behind the scenes, though you will find him at wedding shows, usually standing next to the press explaining how it works to anyone who asks.
Designs by Neev and Yana is named after our daughters. We started it because we wanted to make things properly, with our own hands, rather than send artwork away to be printed by someone we would never meet. Every piece that leaves here has been through both of us.
We are boutique stationers, which in practice means we are small on purpose. We take on a limited number of weddings a year so we can give each one real attention, and so that when you email you are writing to the person who will design your invitation and the person who will print it.
The studio
We work from Studio 9 at Makers' Yard on Rutland Street in Leicester, a building full of people making things by hand. Our press is a hand-operated foiling press built in the 1980s. It has no automatic feed, no digital controls, and a temperament.
It is the reason we can say everything is printed in-house and mean it literally. There is no trade printer and nothing sent away. If there is a flaw in a card, one of us put it there, and one of us will reprint it.
How we work
Slowly, and in the right order. We would rather spend an extra week on proofs than rush a plate, because a plate is a physical object and changing your mind after it is cut is expensive for you. We will tell you when something is a bad idea, and we will tell you when a cheaper option would look better than the expensive one.

Where to find us
We exhibit at wedding shows through the year, including The National Wedding Show and the Asian Wedding Showcase. Shows are the best way to see this work properly, because foil and blind deboss both photograph badly and neither translates to a screen. If you are going to one, come and put your hands on the paper.
